Revista de História da Arte (RHA) welcomes proposals for guest-edited themed issues with original contributions that address and critically analyse historical and current conditions of art practice and theory in the global field.
RHA is an open-access art history journal, published online twice a year, by the Instituto de História da Arte of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. It publishes in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and is committed to promoting diverse, creative and experimental approaches across chronologies and topics. The journal is indexed in ERIH PLUS and DOAJ.
The themed issue should focus on a unique subject area in line with the mission of the journal.
A full proposal must include:
- name, affiliation and contact(s) of the Guest Editor(s);
- title of the proposed Themed Issue;
- keywords (up to 10);
- expanded synopsis (max. 1.000 words);
- relevant bibliographic references on the topic (up to 10)
- list of contributions with respective titles and abstracts (max. 300 words each);
- Guest Editor(s) and authors’ bios (up to 80 words each).
All contributions must be previously unpublished, whether in print or digital formats, and meet the highest scholarly standards. RHA does not consider submissions currently under review elsewhere. Please refer to the Guest Editor Guidelines. All submitted proposals will be reviewed by the RHA Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Board.
For the next Themed Issue, which will be published in November 2027, proposals should be submitted by 15 October 2026, through the journal email address: rha@fcsh.unl.pt
Preliminary expressions of interest may be discussed with the RHA Editors-in-Chief, Paula Ribeiro Lobo and Giuseppona Raggi, using the same address.
